Job summary

All American Assisted Living in Rhode Island is seeking a full-time cook to prepare meals for residents in a healthcare/senior living setting. You will follow established menus and recipes, ensure on-time meal service, and maintain high standards of food safety and presentation.

Qualifications include Serve Safe Manager and Rhode Island Food Safety Manager certifications, plus prior cooking experience in similar environments.

Qualifications

• Certifications required: Serve Safe Manager and Rhode Island Food Safety Manager.
• Previous cooking experience in restaurant, healthcare, senior living or similar food service environment.
• Ability to prepare meals for residents with different dietary needs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes, menus, and production schedules.
• Ensure meals are prepared on time and meet quality and presentation standards.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, infection-control, and kitchen safety requirements.
• Prepare meals that accommodate residents’ dietary needs, restrictions, and preferences.
• Review menus and production sheets before meal preparation.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen.
• Properly label, date, rotate, and store food and ingredients.
• Monitor food temperatures and complete required documentation.
• Assist with receiving, storing, and maintaining food supplies.
• Monitor inventory and notify the supervisor when supplies are needed.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and properly.
• Work closely with Dining Services staff to support smooth meal service.
• Assist with special events, holiday meals, and resident programs as needed.
• Complete additional kitchen and food service duties as assigned
