Job summary

Stoneridge Creek Pleasanton is seeking an experienced Cook III / Lead Cook to join our senior living community culinary team. This full-time role requires leadership, food preparation expertise, and the ability to manage kitchen operations for a high-quality dining program.

You will prepare a wide range of menu items, lead line cooks, and coordinate with service hours while maintaining safety and sanitation standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years experience as a cook in a hotel, restaurant, retirement community or similar institution
• Ability to plan and organize work, to interpret instructions, recipes, specifications and standards
• Knowledge of kitchen equipment operations and maintenance. Some knowledge of nutrition and diet
• Culinary education preferred

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve all food items per standardized recipes to include soups, stocks, sauces, braises and roasts, plus fries, steams, grills and bakes
• Prepare meats, seafood, poultry, fish, vegetables and other items; ensure quality
• Assist in food prep for special functions, banquets, holidays and events
• Stock and maintain adequate levels of food at line stations for smooth service
• Plan production to coordinate with meal serving hours and ensure quality, temperature and appearance
• Follow safety procedures with equipment and sanitation standards
• Maintain plate presentation and consistency in food quality
