Job summary

Nexus of Westmont is seeking a Cook to perform designated work and cleaning routines in the Dietary Department, including meal preparation, supervising staff, and ensuring safety and sanitation. The role includes coverage for absent staff and daily interaction with residents and colleagues.

The position requires reading recipes, following production sheets, and achieving proper food temperatures. A Serve Safe certification is preferred or obtainable within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Must read and follow recipes and production sheets.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures.
• Ability to supervise staff and manage workflow after training.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and portion hot and cold menu items according to recipes.
• Serve resident meals at correct service times.
• Monitor temperatures of food and equipment daily.
• Supervise staff in absence of Dietary Manager and lead daily huddles.
• Maintain sanitation standards and follow department policies.
