Job summary

The Foundry Ministries, Inc. is seeking a Lead Cook to supervise kitchen operations and mentor program participants preparing for careers in hospitality.

You will manage menus, production schedules, and food safety practices, coordinating with the Director of Food Services and CLCC to control costs and ensure high-quality meals for program participants. Qualified candidates bring 2–3 years of culinary experience, a strong commitment to safety, and leadership in a team setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• ServSafe Manager Certification.
• 2–3 years of culinary arts experience.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and professional cooking.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the preparation and meal services as a primary staff member.
• Manage food inventory and collaborate on menu ideas.
• Plan and communicate menus, recipes, and production schedules to participants.
• Assist with budget planning, cost estimates, orders, and inventory control.
• Meet regularly with the Director, CLCC to review daily operations.
• Report large donations or food bank trucks for allocation.
• Attend Foundry All Staff meetings and related activities.
• Support the Director, CLCC and Director, Food Services as needed.
