Job summary

Goldwater Care is seeking a Lead Cook to assist the Dietary Supervisor in managing the kitchen and ensuring high-quality food service in compliance with applicable standards. The role focuses on menu planning, staff coaching, inventory management, and coordinating with other departments to support residents’ dietary needs.

The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of dietary/food experience, Illinois Food Service Sanitation certification, and excellent English communication.

Qualifications

• 3 -5 years of dietary/food experience in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related medical facility preferred but not required.
• Illinois Food Service Sanitation certification required.
• Ability to read, speak and write English clearly.
• Work independently with integrity and flexibility, and collaborate with residents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Review and assist in creating menus prior to food preparation.
• Develop, implement and coordinate department policies and food service manuals.
• Coach and develop dietary staff in coordination with the Dietary Supervisor.
• Maintain inventory and report updates to the Dietary Supervisor.
• Oversee delivery and storage of goods to ensure quality.
