Job summary

Mount Carmel Care Center in the Berkshires is seeking a Lead Cook/Supervisor for our faith-based, 69-bed long-term care facility. You will prepare meals, supervise kitchen staff in the Dietary Director's absence, and ensure all prep is labeled and dated.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Institutional cooking and food service supervisory experience.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to interact with elderly residents and their families.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals according to menus and recipes for the day.
• Supervise kitchen staff when Dietary Director is absent.
• Ensure all prep work is completed, labeled and dated.
• Utilize meal management system for printing tickets, adding new residents, etc.
• Ensure proper sanitation of the kitchen and equipment; proper use and care of all dishes, glassware and utensils.
• Close the kitchen at end of shift.
• Interact with families and residents regarding meals.
