Job summary

Columbia Ability Alliance seeks a Lead Cook to support daily food service operations within the Columbia Valley Center for Recovery by preparing, cooking, and serving meals per menus and dietary requirements.

The role involves supervising kitchen staff, coordinating workflow, and ensuring food quality, safety, and timely service, with potential to oversee other staff and assist with catering events.

Qualifications

• Strong communication, teamwork, organizational, and leadership skills.

• Ability to provide direction and support to other kitchen staff.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals in accordance with approved menus, recipes, and dietary requirements.
• Ensure food quality, presentation, temperature, safety, and sanitation standards are met.
• Maintain clean and sanitary workstations, equipment, storage, and service areas.
• Assist with inventory and communicate supply or equipment needs to the Head Chef / Kitchen Manager.
• Provide day-to-day guidance and work direction to kitchen staff, as assigned.
• Assist with coordinating kitchen workflow and ensuring timely food production and service.
• Assist with training and onboarding kitchen staff and trainees.
• Promote a positive, respectful, and recovery-oriented kitchen environment.
• Assist with food preparation, packaging, and service for catering events.
