Advocate Health in Illinois is recruiting for a part‑time Food Service role within the Food and Nutrition department. The position requires availability to work every other weekend and every other holiday after training, with shifts from 10:00am to 8:30pm and a 20‑hour work week.

The role involves training staff, monitoring production, preparing meals per recipes, ensuring safety/sanitation, and supporting patient‑centered care.

Qualifikationen

• Familiarity with diet restrictions and ability to adapt recipes.
• Ability to measure and scale amounts of ingredients used in a recipe.

Aufgaben

• Acts as a resource to staff, including training and orientation, and provides day‑to‑day work direction.
• Assists with human resource responsibilities, including interviewing and staff development; interprets department policies.
• Reviews production sheets and recipes to ensure quality and quantity; prepares food on daily production report; maintains records.
• Measures and mixes ingredients; uses kitchen utensils and equipment to prepare items per recipes.
• Bakes, roasts, broils and steams meat, fish, vegetables and other foods per recipes; carves and slices meats/cheese.
• Garnishes, displays and serves food items according to standards and recipes.
• Maintains storage and rotation of inventories; monitors food temperatures; follows safe handling procedures.
• Ensures proper portioning and helps control waste/cost; supports age‑appropriate patient care as needed.
