Job summary

Pearl of Evanston is seeking a Cook for the Dietary Department to prepare meals, supervise staff, and ensure quality and sanitation. You will support the Dietary Manager, oversee shifts, and help maintain safety and service standards throughout the day.

Responsibilities include following recipes, portioning items, and assisting with inventory, while ensuring compliance with health regulations and facility policies. Flexibility in hours is required.

Qualifications

• Must read and follow recipes and production sheets.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Serve Safe certification or willingness to obtain within 90 days.
• Minimum 1 year healthcare or restaurant experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and portion hot and cold menu items according to the production sheet.
• Serve Resident meals according to service times.
• Cover for staff who call out due to illness.
• Ensure all food and equipment temperatures are recorded.
• Interact with residents and staff to ensure satisfaction.
• Maintain sanitation per state health regulations.
• Practice a clean, safe work environment.
• Track inventory and communicate shortages to Dietary Manager.
