Job summary

Five Star Breaktime Solutions is seeking a Lead Cook to lead a kitchen, prepare high-quality meals, and ensure a welcoming dining experience for guests. You will be responsible for maintaining food safety, coordinating with the team, and delivering consistent portions.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 1 year of food service experience, and the ability to pass a drug screen and background check. Full-time, on-site position in Cincinnati, OH.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of food service experience.
• Must consent to drug screen and pre-employment background check.
• Must be able to lift 35 pounds and perform physical tasks (lift, bend, stoop, reach).

Responsibilities

• Prepare hot and cold meals following menus and recipes.
• Cook, season, and present food with consistency and timeliness.
• Maintain a clean, organized kitchen and storage areas.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and portion control standards.
• Monitor inventory and assist with ordering food and supplies.
• Collaborate with cafeteria team to ensure smooth meal service.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare hot and cold meals following daily menus, portion guidelines, and company recipes.
• Cook, season, and present food with consistency, accuracy, and timeliness.
• Maintain a clean, organized kitchen including prep areas, equipment, and storage spaces.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and portion control standards at all times.
• Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering food and supplies.
• Collaborate with cafeteria team members to ensure smooth meal service and fast turnaround times.
• Assist with meal setup, breakdown, and cleaning before and after service periods.
• Provide friendly, helpful service to guests and support a positive dining environment.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma/ GED and 1 year of food service experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to consent to a drug screen and pre-employment background check.
• Must be able to lift 35 pounds.
• Ability to lift, bend, stoop, and reach throughout the shift.

Preferred Qualifications

• Cooking/ food prep experience.
• Customer service/ point of sale experience.
• Serv Safe certification.
