Job summary

Five Star Breaktime Solutions seeks aLead Cook to lead the kitchen team, prepare high-quality meals, and maintain a clean, efficient dining area in Evansville, IN. You will create welcoming experiences for guests and collaborate with the cafeteria team to ensure timely service.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and 1 year of food service experience, plus the ability to pass a drug screen and background check. Expect to lift 35 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 1 year of food service experience, or equivalent.
• Must pass drug screen and pre-employment background check.
• Ability to lift 35 pounds and to lift, bend, stoop, and reach throughout the shift.

Responsibilities

• Prepare hot and cold meals following daily menus, portion guidelines, and company recipes.
• Cook, season, and present food with consistency, accuracy, and timeliness.
• Maintain a clean, organized kitchen including prep areas, equipment, and storage spaces.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and portion control standards at all times.
• Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering food and supplies.
• Collaborate with cafeteria team members to ensure smooth meal service and fast turnaround times.
• Assist with meal setup, breakdown, and cleaning before and after service periods.
• Provide friendly, helpful service to guests and support a positive dining environment.
