Heritage Schools, Inc. in Payson, Utah, is seeking a Lead Cook for Spark Homestead to prepare healthy, scratch-made meals for students and staff in a full-time role. The position involves meal planning for groups of 15–30, adherence to special diets, and maintaining a clean, welcoming kitchen.

You will collaborate with the medical team and nutritionist, manage food purchasing and budgeting, and help decorate the kitchen for holidays while fostering a positive environment for neurodiverse teens.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 20 years old.
• Minimum of two years of cooking experience.
• Ability to cook from scratch and prepare three meals per day.
• Ability to work 8–10-hour shifts and prepare meals for groups of up to 30 people.
• Valid driver's license.
• Proficiency in speaking, understanding, reading, and writing English.

Responsibilities

• Prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner for students and staff.
• Prepare meals independently for groups of 15–30 people.
• Follow recipes and accommodate special diets as directed by the medical team and nutritionist.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming kitchen and dining area.
• Collaborate with students and the weekend cook on menu planning.
• Manage food purchasing, grocery shopping, and the food budget.
• Ensure proper food storage and inventory rotation to minimize waste.
• Provide meals for quarterly workshops serving approximately 35–45 people.
• Create a warm, welcoming environment by decorating the kitchen for holidays and birthdays.
• Foster positive interactions with students and contribute to a healthy, supportive environment.
