Job summary

Embassy of Scranton is seeking a Cook to prepare meals in accordance with applicable regulations and our policies, under the direction of the Head Cook and Director of Food Services, to ensure quality food service is provided at all times.

Requirements include a high school education and age of at least 18; ability to read, write and understand English; and preferably one year of dietary experience in a hospital or skilled nursing facility.

Qualifications

• Must possess a high school education.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• One year dietary experience in a hospital, SNF, or related facility preferred.
• Sanitation certification such as SafeServ is required.
• Ability to read, write and understand English.
• Must possess leadership ability to work with staff.

Responsibilities

• Review menus prior to preparation of food.
• Prepare meals in accordance with planned menus and standardized recipes.
• Ensure dietary procedures and safety/sanitation standards are followed.
• Coordinate dietary service with other departments as necessary.
• Assist in establishing food service production line to ensure meals are prepared on time.
