Job summary

Tigg's Canteen Services is seeking a Permanent Full-Time Lead Cook for the Berrien County Jail in St. Joseph, Michigan. The lead will direct kitchen staff, prepare meals, and ensure safety and cleanliness in a structured correctional setting.

The role requires strong leadership, reliable teamwork, and the ability to follow recipes, with a schedule that may include weekends and varying shifts; training is available for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and leadership skills are essential.
• Ability to read and follow recipes and written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Leading, directing, and assisting inmates within the kitchen.
• Prepare, bake, and cook meals according to company recipes.
• Assist with meal planning and preparation.
• Follow all company policies, procedures, and food safety standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen.
• Assist with kitchen clean-up and other daily duties.
• Work effectively within a structured correctional facility.
