Tigg's Canteen Services is hiring a Permanent Full-Time Lead Cook at Marquette County Jail in Marquette, MI. You will oversee kitchen activities, direct inmates, assist with meal preparation, and ensure safety and quality in a structured correctional environment.

This role is critical to daily operations and requires dependable leadership. We offer a starting wage of $22.00 per hour plus Medical Insurance, Dental Insurance, Vision Insurance, a 401K, and Paid Time Off.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work in a structured correctional environment.
• Ability to read and follow company recipes.
• Lift up to 50 pounds.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Willingness to work weekends/holidays.
• Able to obtain facility clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead, direct, and assist inmates in the kitchen.
• Lead daily meal preparation.
• Food preparation, baking, and cooking; assist with cleanup.
• Follow company recipes and established procedures.
• Provide instruction as needed.
