Job summary

HEI Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Lead Cook for Becca Restaurant & Garden at The Historic Cavalier Hotel, Virginia Beach. You will prepare high-quality dishes, manage prep, and ensure food safety in a luxury coastal setting.

The role is on-site, full-time, and hourly with competitive pay. Experience in hotel or premium dining environments is preferred, with the stamina to handle up to 100 lbs. Attend regularly and support kitchen operations.

Qualifications

• Hotel/restaurant experience preferred.
• Dexterity to operate food machinery and handle weights up to 100 lbs.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food of consistent quality following recipes and standards.
• Start items in advance and manage portion control and waste.
• Rotate perishables and check stock/par levels for shift.
• Assist in setting up plans to control food costs and waste.
• Operate and sanitize kitchen equipment and tools as required.
• Attend regularly and perform other duties as assigned.
