Tigg's Canteen Services is seeking a Part-Time Lead Cook to join the Leelanau County Jail kitchen in Suttons Bay, Michigan. The role focuses on leading daily meal preparation, ensuring adherence to recipes and safety standards, and supporting a team in a secure facility.

In This Role You Will

• Lead daily meal preparation and kitchen operations
• Assist with cooking, baking, food preparation, and dishwashing
• Ensure meals are prepared according to company recipes and food safety standards
• Help train and support other kitchen team members
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen
• Work in a secure, professional correctional facility

We're Looking For Someone Who

• Leads by example and has a positive attitude
• Enjoys working as part of a team
• Is dependable and organized
• Can lift up to 50 pounds
• Can read and follow standardized recipes
• Is comfortable working in a structured environment
• Has a high school diploma or equivalent
• Can pass the required facility clearance

Schedule

• Permanent Part-Time
• Day shifts between 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM
• Rotating weekends and holidays required
• Flexible availability is appreciated

Experience

Food service, restaurant, institutional, healthcare, school, or correctional kitchen experience is preferred-but if you're dependable and eager to learn, we'll provide the training you need to succeed.
