Job description

Responsibilities

The Cook Lead will oversee the preparation of food for patients, staff, and visitors in a healthcare setting, ensuring adherence to safe cooking techniques. Responsibilities include supervising staff to ensure compliance with processes and procedures, preparing food for various therapeutic diets, and maintaining compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The role also involves supporting quality control measures such as recipe adherence and food quality consistency.

  • Champion food quality standards in appearance, taste, temperature, and sanitation.
  • Prepare and serve food according to menu and dietary requirements, using appropriate kitchen utensils and equipment such as slicers, mixers, ovens, fryers, steamers, stove tops, and grills. Modify preparations to accommodate food allergies.
  • Perform washing and cleaning duties to ensure sanitation and cleanliness in cooking and serving areas.
  • Maintain proper labeling of food products and ensure storage of food, equipment, and machinery complies with regulations and facility guidelines.
Qualifications

Minimum of two (2) years of experience in food services required, or one (1) year of hospital experience preferred.

Associate's Degree or two years of equivalent education and experience in lieu of an Associate's Degree.
