Job summary

Shelter Services is seeking a cook to plan, prepare, and serve nutritious meals for large groups at the Men’s and Women’s Shelters. The role involves supervising kitchen staff, maintaining inventory, and ensuring meals are prepared safely and on schedule.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and at least three years of experience cooking for large groups, plus a Food Handler’s certification. Weekend availability is needed; shifts run 9AM–5PM.

Responsibilities

• Ensures enough food is prepared based on attendance and serves meals on schedule.

Schedule/Hours:Five days a week. Weekend availability needed. 9AM to 5PM. Works from both the Men's Shelter and Women's ShelterThis Position Is Responsible For:Plans, prepares, cooks and serves nutritional meals and snacks in accordance with established guidelines and schedules; ensures all meals are prepared and served in a safe and presentable manner; cleans kitchen facilities, equipment, and appliances; maintains inventory of kitchen supplies and food in a neat and orderly manner. Assigns, instructs and monitors work of other cooks and food service workers.Key Responsibilities:This position description should not be interpreted as all inclusive.
