Job summary

Tigg's Canteen Services is hiring a Permanent Full-Time Lead Cook for Jackson County Jail in Jackson, MI. The role requires leadership in a structured correctional setting, with daily meal preparation and kitchen management.

Starting pay is $21.00/hour with benefits including medical, dental & vision, 401K, and PTO. You must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and be approved for facility clearance. Training is available for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to work in a structured correctional environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays.
• Flexibility to work varying shifts between 7:00 AM-6:00 PM.
• Must be approved for clearance into the facility.
• Previous food service or kitchen experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right person!

Responsibilities

• Lead, direct, and assist inmates within the kitchen.
• Lead and assist with daily meal preparation.
• Prepare, bake, and cook meals according to company recipes.
• Help maintain a clean and organized kitchen.
• Follow company policies and facility procedures.
