What You'll Do

  • Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes, menus, and production schedules
  • Ensure meals are prepared on time and meet quality and presentation standards
  • Follow food safety, sanitation, infection-control, and kitchen safety requirements
  • Prepare meals that accommodate residents’ dietary needs, restrictions, and preferences
  • Review menus and production sheets before meal preparation
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen
  • Properly label, date, rotate, and store food and ingredients
  • Monitor food temperatures and complete required documentation
  • Assist with receiving, storing, and maintaining food supplies
  • Monitor inventory and notify the supervisor when supplies are needed
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and properly
  • Work closely with Dining Services staff to support smooth meal service
  • Assist with special events, holiday meals, and resident programs as needed
  • Complete additional kitchen and food service duties as assigned

What We're Looking For

  • Previous cooking experience in a restaurant, healthcare, senior living, or similar food service environment
  • Knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, and food safety practices
  • ServSafe Certification
  • Ability to follow recipes, menus, and production schedules
  • Ability to prepare meals for individuals with different dietary needs
  • Strong organization and time-management skills
  • Ability to work efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to safely lift and carry up to (lifting requirement) pounds
  • Availability to work based on the needs of the community
