Google Cloud is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) in Applied AI to lead customer-facing AI initiatives, transforming rapid prototypes into production-grade solutions and owning end-to-end engineering across the lifecycle.

This high-travel role focuses on delivering conversational AI pilots at customer sites, partnering with enterprise teams, and ensuring scalable, secure AI systems while leveraging Vertex AI and Gemini models.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of software development experience with Python or similar languages.
• Experience deploying resources via Terraform to automate setup of agents and networking.

Responsibilities

• Lead developer for conversational AI and customer experiences, transitioning prototypes to production.
• Architect and code flows connecting AI products with customers’ infrastructure and APIs.
• Build high-performance evaluation pipelines and observability for agentic workloads.
• Identify friction points in AI stack and develop reusable modules.
• Co-build with customer teams applying Google-grade development practices.
