Job summary
HiFyve is hiring a Controls Engineer for a leading Tier 1 automotive manufacturer in Columbus, NE. You will be the primary controls expert, leading PLC programming, troubleshooting, commissioning, and automation improvements while partnering with Maintenance and Operations.
The role focuses on Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMIs, robotics (Fanuc), and automated production equipment across a 300,000 sq ft facility. You’ll support plant automation and equipment startups with limited on-site presence.
Qualifications
- Experience programming and troubleshooting Allen-Bradley PLCs and ladder logic.
- Strong PLC programming, diagnostics and controls troubleshooting experience.
- Experience modifying HMIs and implementing controls updates.
- Electrical troubleshooting and controls diagnostics in automated environments.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and ladder diagrams.
- Experience supporting new equipment installation, startup and commissioning.
- Experience commissioning robotic cells and automated manufacturing equipment.
Responsibilities
- Provide advanced troubleshooting and programming support for plant controls.
- Lead automation improvements and support new equipment installations.
- Serve as final escalation point for complex controls issues within maintenance.
- Collaborate with Maintenance and Operations in a highly automated facility.
