Job summary

Rolls‑Royce is seeking aControls Engineer Specialist in the United States to lead the architecture of control system platforms and HMIs for MTU-based generator and power systems. You will drive software development for sustainable solutions globally, coordinating with electrical engineers and manufacturers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering is required.
  • 7 years of electrical/controls or electronics engineering experience, or 11 years equivalent experience.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% for business trips.

Responsibilities

  • Lead architecture for control system platforms and HMI/touchscreen development for generator-related panels and SCADA cabinets.
  • Act as technical lead for controller software development for sustainable solutions (e.g., Microgrids, Battery Containers, Fuel Cells).
  • Define interfaces between MTU hardware and balance-of-plant systems on a global scale.
  • Develop special customer applications with MTU control systems.
  • Design controls for R&D programs and interface with electrical/mechanical systems.
  • Collaborate with controls and governor manufacturers to improve functionality and mitigate issues.
