Job summary

A leading global chemical producer is seeking an experienced Control Systems Engineer to provide expert knowledge and manage engineering projects at the Geismar facility. The ideal candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and at least 5 years of experience in the Oil and Gas or Petrochemical industry, with strong skills in control systems. This role includes ensuring project safety, quality, and budget adherence while contributing to operational excellence and cybersecurity practices.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 5 years experience as a Control Systems Engineer, Process Control Engineer or DCS Engineer within the Oil and Gas or Petrochemical industry.
• Preferred majority of experience spent on manufacturing site(s).
• In depth knowledge of standards and procedures and industry best practice.

Responsibilities

• Ensures all assigned controls projects are managed such that the safety, quality, cost and schedule targets are achieved.
• Manages the assigned controls project worklist to meet customer requirements.
• Coordinates commissioning of assigned controls projects with Operations.

Skills

Strong diagnostic/fault-finding skills

Effective verbal and written communication skills

Strong Controls, PLC and SIS experience

Excellent computer skills

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related field
