Job summary

M&T Bank is seeking a Business Risk Team Lead to strengthen the control environment across Institutional Services. You will partner with business leaders to identify risks, enhance processes, and design sustainable controls, leading risk assessments, RCSA activities, and control design initiatives.

Ideal candidates have a strong background in operational risk, internal audit, or consulting, with experience in process analysis, risk identification, and implementing testable controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years' relevant work experience, or 9 years combined education/work.
• 7+ years in Operational Risk Management, Internal Audit, Risk Consulting, or related disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Partner with leaders to evaluate processes, identify risks, and design effective controls.
• Lead risk identification, risk assessment, RCSA, and control design across functions.
• Conduct process analysis and mapping to identify operational and compliance risks.
• Review control inventories and language to ensure sustainable, testable controls.
• Perform control gap analyses and recommend preventive, detective, and monitoring controls.
• Translate complex processes into actionable, measurable control designs.
• Mentor and develop junior team members in risk identification and control design.
• Leverage data analytics and technology to enhance risk management and efficiency.
