Job summary

Republic Services Lead Compactor Shop Technician role involves troubleshooting, design, installation and repair of compactors and power units, with limited supervision. You will coach technicians and enforce safety protocols on site.

The ideal candidate has 1 year welding experience and strong skills in MIG/ARC welding, plasma cutting, and hydraulic/electrical systems, with on-site customer work and collaboration with sales for presales support.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated proficiency with welding, hydraulics or electronics.
• Advanced knowledge of mig & stick welders, plasma cutter, and airless paint sprayers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to follow directions with minimal supervisory involvement.

Responsibilities

• Maintain advanced knowledge of compactors and hydraulic/electrical systems.
• Visit customer sites to ensure repairs meet expectations and assist sales in presales.
• Coach technicians to complete advanced tasks and ensure safety compliance.
• Identify malfunctions and determine repair actions; perform welding and fabrication as needed.
• Perform on-site repairs and complete required paperwork; install safety decals on compactors.
