  • You are not required to report into a Mosaic office; however, there is travel to client locations across the United States required for this role. (~50%)
  • Geographic flexibility: This position is open to candidates residing anywhere in the US.

Join Our Team as a Lead Instructional Design Consultant!

Are you ready to make an impact and drive success? We’re seeking a talented and motivated Lead Consultant (Instructional Designer) to join our dynamic team at Mosaic. If you thrive on designing and delivering top-notch workforce consulting solutions, this is the perfect role for you!

Position Overview: As a Lead Consultant, you will develop innovative deliverables to address our clients' workforce consulting needs. Collaborating with subject matter experts and development professionals, you’ll create content, learning objectives, assessments, and interactive elements.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop instructor-led (ILT), web-based (WBT), and blended learning solutions for various audiences.
  • Create training materials including job aids, simulations, assessments, quick reference guides, and step-by-step instructions.
  • Analyze training needs and target audiences to inform course design and delivery strategies.
  • Manage end-to-end instructional design process including task analysis, storyboarding, content development, and revisions.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs), clients, and project teams to gather content and ensure instructional accuracy.
  • Apply instructional design best practices to support hands-on, scenario-based, and role-specific learning.
  • Support or lead pilot sessions and hand-off training materials to facilitators or delivery teams.
  • Coordinate and set up physical or virtual learning environments; troubleshoot learning systems as needed.
  • Lead or support small instructional design teams; provide coaching, mentoring, and editorial review of training materials.
  • Consult with clients to identify performance gaps and recommend training or process-based solutions.
  • Facilitate workshops and stakeholder meetings to define learning objectives and business impact.
  • Monitor and report on training effectiveness, project status, and timelines.
  • Ensure quality and consistency of all deliverables by applying editorial standards, templates, and usability best practices.
  • Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and improvement of training design standards and processes.

To effectively respond to client and project needs, roles and responsibilities will vary and may include additional responsibilities not listed.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Intermediate to advanced experience in training consulting or managing instructional design projects.
  • Experience working in the energy/utilities sector or on enterprise software implementations (e.g., ERP systems) preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of instructional design methodologies and adult learning principles.
  • Proficiency in developing a wide range of training and support materials, including ILT, WBT, and job aids.
  • Demonstrated leadership and client-facing skills, with the ability to guide small teams and manage stakeholder relationships.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and time management skills; able to navigate project challenges effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel at an advanced level.
  • Familiarity with project management and change management concepts.

The compensation range considers a wide range of factors that are considered in making hiring and compensation decisions. These factors include, but are not limited to candidate skill set, consulting experience, training and education, competencies, and other business and organizational needs. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Mosaic strives to set salaries at, or near the 50th percentile (midpoint) of the range and it is not typical for candidates to be hired at or near the top of the range for the position. A reasonable estimate for this position is $90,000.00 to $125,000.00. This position is eligible to participate in a discretionary bonus program of up to 6% of annual compensation. The bonus program is dependent on a variety of factors including organizational and individual performance. In addition to the salary and bonus eligibility, Mosaic is proud to offer a comprehensive health and wellness package, a Flexible Time Off program, paid holidays, discretionary 401(k) match, and participation in the Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).
