Job summary

D.L. George & Sons Construction is seeking a Construction Utility Foreman with 3-5 years of experience to lead a crew on field projects. You will supervise daily operations, read blueprints, plan sequences, and manage costs while ensuring safety programs are followed.

You will coordinate with project managers, owners, and subcontractors, interpret drawings, and address site issues. Some travel may be required, with a focus on efficient, compliant work.

Qualifications

• Must have strong leadership and communication skills.
• Working knowledge of utility systems (water, sewer, storm drains, etc).
• Coordination of work, manpower and materials, ensure manpower and equipment needs are scheduled and met.
• Problem solving in a priority regiment.
• Be willing to submit to background checks for access and clearances for specific projects.
• Submit to, as requested, for a drug test prior to employment and random thereafter.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and local codes.
• Ability to read construction drawings.
• Must be a team player.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, coordinate, and train a construction crew.
• Oversee daily operations, including excavation, pipe laying, backfilling, and site setup, often using heavy equipment.
• Read blueprints, plan work sequences, order materials, manage daily reports, and track job costs.
• Support and abide by the company Safety Programs; safety is the top priority for yourself and your crew.
• Communicate with project managers, owners, subcontractors and inspectors.
• Interpret drawings, shoot grades and ensure proper installation of pipes and other infrastructure.
• Address site issues and resolve conflicts.
• Some travel may be required, generally held to a minimum.
