Job summary

The City of Albuquerque is seeking an experienced supervisor to lead, oversee and participate in the most complex carpentry, cement-finishing and remodeling work across facilities and parks. You will guide staff, read blueprints, plan and direct construction and repairs.

This role requires at least a high school diploma with vocational training and 3 years of construction experience; valid NM driver's license and COP within 6 months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED supplemented by thirty (30) credit hours vocational training in Carpentry, Plumbing, or Welding.
• Three (3) years of construction experience.
• Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver's License and ability to obtain City Operator's Permit (COP) within six months.

Responsibilities

• Lead, plan, train and review the work of staff responsible for construction, maintenance and remodeling of facilities, parks and equipment.
• Plan and direct construction activities; oversee buildings, parks, sidewalks and drive pads.
• Read and interpret blueprints and sketches to ensure conformity with project specs.
• Supervise use and operation of construction equipment; ensure safety and compliance with standards.
• Respond to public inquiries courteously and resolve complaints efficiently.
