Job summary

Clark Construction is seeking a Superintendent to lead field operations on a major commercial project in Phoenix. You will oversee self-performed and contracted work, ensuring compliance with contracts and the project schedule while promoting safety and quality on site.

You will develop, update, and communicate the project plan, mentor a strong team, and maintain relationships with stakeholders. Expect hands-on site work with potential long hours during critical phases.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or graduate degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, a related discipline, or relevant work experience.
• 7+ years of experience on large-scale commercial construction projects.
• 2+ years leading, developing, and motivating teams.
• In-depth knowledge of the construction process including scheduling, contract administration, equipment, and personnel.
• Demonstrated experience leading field operations and communicating plans across multiple audiences.
• OSHA safety and building regulations knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Oversee timely and quality installation of contracted work of either a total project or a particular scope, trade contractor, or portion of a project.
• Implement a culture of safety and quality among Clark employees and trade contractors and conduct regular safety inspections.
• Create and manage a plan to sequence work, manage jobsite logistics, and track materials and personnel.
• Ensure high quality of work consistent with project and company standards.
• Delivers project on schedule and on budget; exercises initiative and accountability.
• Develop and communicate the project schedule and critical milestones with stakeholders.
• Mentor and develop team members to build a high functioning team.
• Cultivate strong relationships with project stakeholders.
• Represent the company professionally in meetings and interactions.
• Understand owner contracts, subcontracts, and vendor agreements.
• Participate in staff charts, general conditions, project costs, and KPI understanding.
• Contribute to close-out activities including punch lists and building operations training.
• Demonstrate advanced problem-solving to overcome obstacles on the job.
