Job summary

Pogue Construction is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to oversee commercial construction projects in the greater Houston area. You will work directly with the Project Manager, apply expert plan/spec knowledge, and guide pre-construction efforts to resolve constructability issues.

Responsibilities include maintaining schedule integrity, coordinating with sub-contractors, ensuring quality control, and upholding Pogue procedures while managing safety on site.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years serving as an Assistant Superintendent on commercial construction sites.
• High School Diploma.
• K-12 experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ultimate responsibility of construction.
• Work directly with Project Manager.
• Expert knowledge of assigned plans and specs.
• Participate in pre-construction and advise on constructability issues.
• Host mandatory preconstruction meetings with subs prior to start date.
• Monitor project quality control and uphold procedures.
• Maintain and update Project Schedule and present at sub meetings.
• Create short term construction schedules and daily reports.
• Document performance of project and Sub-Contractors.
• Ensure delivery of project materials and host weekly Sub-Contractor meetings.
• Maintain clean, presentable trailer and job-site; enforce safety guidelines.
• Oversee SWPPP operations and staff training.
• Collaborate with District & Architect; perform other duties as assigned.
