Job summary

The Weitz Company in Des Moines, IA is seeking a Project Superintendent to lead field operations on complex commercial projects, ensuring profitable outcomes.

As a primary site leader, you will manage scheduling, safety, subcontractor coordination, and cost reporting while collaborating with the Project Manager and Owners.

You’ll build relationships with owners, designers, engineers and vendors, uphold company standards, and drive a culture of safety and quality across the team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of commercial construction experience.
• Experience with safety, preconstruction, staff development, and customer interaction.
• Ability to read construction documents and lead a team.
• High school diploma; college degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead subcontractors and field forces on site.
• Maintain site safety per policy.
• Develop and update project schedules.
• Prepare two-week look-ahead schedules.
• Coordinate subcontractors and communicate with owners and engineers.
• Maintain cost reports.
• Adhere to company policies.
