The Weitz Company is hiring a Senior Project Superintendent for our Industrial team in Des Moines, IA. This role requires power generation expertise and a willingness to travel nationally or relocate to project sites as needed.

The Senior Project Superintendent will oversee profitable field operations on complex, large projects, establish a strong safety culture on site, and closely coordinate with the Project Manager to manage schedule, budget, and staffing.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; Industry-related college degree preferred.
• Minimum of eight years of field and project construction management experience; Power Generation experience required.
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents, knowledge of construction methods and materials, strong communication, negotiation and problem solving skills.
• Experience with Procore, JDE, and Asta is preferred; familiarity with scheduling software and process is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Construct the project in accordance with plans, schedule, specifications and standards.
• Lead subcontractors and field employees on a jobsite.
• Lead project safety in accordance with the Company’s Safety Policy.
• Work alongside the Project Manager to manage the project schedule, budget and staff.
• Develop and maintain the project schedule utilizing scheduling software; prepare two-week look ahead schedules.
• Assist with the buyout and selection of major subcontractors.
• Recommend ways to reduce cost, improve schedule dates, decrease project scope and improve quality.
• Ensure project documents are accurate, timely and in compliance.
• Review and enforce all contract terms and obligations.
• Adhere to all company policies, standards, and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
