Job summary

Clark Construction Group, LLC seeks a Safety Manager to lead safety on active construction sites in the Richmond, VA area. The role drives Clark’s safety culture, ensures protection of workers, trade partners, and the public, and enforces safety programs and federal, state, and local standards.

The successful candidate will mentor safety staff, coordinate hazard mitigation, and develop site-specific safety education for crews and subcontractors while aligning with Clark’s Excellence standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in safety and health or related construction experience.
• Proven ability to influence a wide range of stakeholders.
• Training and experience in crane, fall protection, excavation, scaffolds, and heavy equipment safety.
• Strong prioritization skills in deadline-driven environments.
• Commitment to Clark Standards of Excellence and safety culture.

Responsibilities

• Drive Clark safety culture on a project.
• Oversee safety of employees, trade partners, and general public.
• Enforce corporate and project safety programs and standards.
• Mentor safety staff and assist in their development.
• Identify known or potential exposures and recommend corrective action.
• Develop, coordinate, and implement project-specific safety programs.
• Partner with field supervision to ensure hazard mitigation in planning.
• Develop project safety education for jobsite personnel, including subcontractors.
• Drive and create a safety vision for a safe workplace for all.
• Facilitate third party safety reviews including OSHA.
• Teach safety topics within Clark beyond your jobsite.
• Assist with business plan objectives including OSHA and policies.
• Recruit top industry talent to join Clark team.
• Identify, hire, and retain outstanding people.
• Exceed stakeholder expectations by anticipating needs and goals.
