Leadingagemissouri in Cape Girardeau, MO, seeks a construction accounting leader to manage job costing, cost control, and project governance across multiple active projects.

You will deliver WIP, variance analyses, revenue recognition, and final cost closeouts, partnering with operations and project managers to protect margins and cash flow.

The role requires strong technical accounting, ERP experience (JD Edwards), and mentoring the team on coding discipline and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid driver’s license with the ability to maintain a clean driving history.
• CPA, CMA, or CCIFP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead detailed tracking and analysis of project costs and ensure costs are captured to the correct job, phase, and cost type in real time.
• Reconcile job cost subledgers to the general ledger monthly, investigate discrepancies, and ensure accurate accruals.
• Prepare, review, and present job cost reports, WIP schedules, cost-to-complete, and variance analysis to project managers and leadership.
• Assist with review of project budget and EAC updates with upload of monthly changes into the system.
• Oversee timely project billing (SOV, T&M, costed items) and monitor AR collections and cash flow by job.
• Drive timely closeouts including revenue recognition and final billing; implement cost control improvements.
