Job summary

WSP has an exciting career opportunity for a Construction Materials Testing Team Lead to join our Savannah, GA office. This role will manage our construction materials inspection, testing and laboratory group, interface with other practice area leads, and mentor engineers and technicians.

We seek a candidate with 5–7 years of leadership experience, a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Geology or Business, and strong client relationship and QA/QC skills.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of industry experience with leading teams, managing projects and sound knowledge of laboratory tests, field testing and special inspections.
• Excellent organization skills and ability to multi-task.
• Positive experience dealing directly with client representatives.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships as well as experience in proposal preparation.
• Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally.

Responsibilities

• Lead an established team on projects associated with construction management, construction quality assurance, special inspections, materials testing and laboratory testing in both construction materials and geotechnical applications.
• Lead and support business development and strategic planning efforts to increase market share in the local market.
• Recruit/Hire staff and direct project staffing assignments to meet client, contract, and company business objective
• Manage and coordinate project teams, including ensuring the technical quality of deliverables.
• Support financial, project management, backlog and utilization reporting requirements.
