Job summary

Vaco by Highspring is seeking a Construction Estimator in Orlando, FL to lead small to midsize estimates and contribute to larger pursuits. You will review bid documents, perform quantity takeoffs, and collaborate with project teams, trade partners, and suppliers to identify risks and opportunities.

The ideal candidate combines strong estimating knowledge with practical construction experience, on-site exposure, and the ability to support pursuits up to $25 million.

Qualifications

• Four years of progressive construction cost-estimating experience.
• Approximately six months of on-site construction experience preferred.
• Successful experience leading pursuits valued up to $25 million.
• Strong knowledge of drawings, specifications, materials, construction methods, and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Lead small to midsize estimates or components of larger estimates.
• Review bid documents, contract drawings, and specs to validate requirements.
• Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs for labor, equipment, and materials.
• Support pursuit planning by preparing tender forms and RFIs, and assist with schedules.
• Identify risks and opportunities related to project requirements, terms, site conditions, and schedules.
• Organize and archive estimating information for turnover to the project team.
• Provide mentoring and guidance to junior team members.
