Job summary

Voith US Inc. is seeking a seasoned engineer to plan and manage field service scopes for hydro turbine/generator projects. You will translate technical requirements into execution plans, coordinate resources, and ensure budget and schedule adherence across multiple sites.

You will participate in site assessments, clarify customer needs, and prepare specifications with suppliers, while managing risks and ensuring HSE and quality standards. Travel to project sites is expected.

Qualifications

• University degree in Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
• Experience and technical understanding of Turbines, Generators and balance of plant equipment.
• Able to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, schedules and budgets.
• Previous site manager or supervisor experience on Hydro Turbine/Generator projects is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient with MS Office suite.
• Travel to project sites is expected.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage field service scope of projects within budget and schedule, considering all FIELD SERVICE aspects.
• Develop concepts, execution plans and cost estimates for field service scope of proposals.
• Ensure information availability and participate in site assessments.
• Clarify requirements with customers and facilitate bids and offers process.
• Prepare specifications for purchased services and evaluate bids.
• Identify risks and opportunities and define contingency plans.
• Support project startup and field service planning during execution.
• Participate in design reviews ensuring field considerations are included.
• Develop project-specific procedures and safety plans.
• Determine site layouts, tooling and infrastructure requirements.
• Ensure HSE and quality documents are available.
• Support project managers and site managers in execution and monitoring.

Summary:

Planning and managing field service scope of projects within budget, time and under consideration of all Field Service relevant aspects.

Responsibilities:

• Develops concepts, execution plans and cost estimates for field service scope of proposals.
• Understands technical requirements as well as legal/regional regulations.
• Ensures availability of all required information. Participates in site assessments.
• Facilitates clarifications with customers.
• Prepares specifications for purchased services/supplies and evaluates bids/offers.
• Identifies risks and opportunities during proposal phase and defines contingency plans.
• Facilitates project startup and details field service concept/plans during project execution.
• Participates in design review meetings and ensures field related design considerations.
• Develops and ensures availability of project specific procedures and safety assessments.
• Determines site layouts, tooling/fixtures and site infrastructure requirements.
• Ensures availability of HSE and quality plans and documents.
• Supports project managers and site managers in executing the field service scope of projects.
• Monitors target achievement regarding quality, schedule, costs and supports corrective actions.
• Facilitates identification and allocation of required internal and external resources.
• Provides technical support and advice to field sites.
• Offer Project Team, Project Execution Team, Customers and Suppliers
• Field Service roles such as Field Service Management, Site Managers/Supervisors, Field Machining Supervisors, Tooling & Equipment Support.
• Functional areas such as Sales, Project Management, Engineering, Commercial, Purchasing & Logistics, Quality, HR, Legal.

Qualifications:

• University diploma in Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
• Experience and technical understanding of Turbines, Generators and balance of plant equipment.
• Capable of reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications, schedules and budgets.
• Previous experience as site manager or supervisor on Hydro Turbine/Generator Project an asset.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Fully computer literate MS office suite.
• Some travelling to various project sites are to be expected.
