Job summary

STG Construction is hiring an Accounting Controller to own financial reporting, lead the accounting team, and manage the monthly close across multiple entities. This hands‑on leadership role reports to the CFO and focuses on accurate statements and strong internal controls.

You'll supervise assistant controllers, AP, and AR staff, ensuring timely close and compliant construction accounting practices in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• 5+ years of accounting experience.
• 2+ years in a supervisory or team‑lead capacity.
• Construction industry accounting experience (WIP, percentage‑of‑completion, job costing, AIA, certified payroll).
• Strong working proficiency in Excel.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly close and produce accurate, timely consolidated financial statements across multiple entities.
• Lead, coach, and develop the accounting team — assistant controllers, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Review business-unit financial statements prepared by assistant controllers for accuracy and completeness.
• Perform multi-entity consolidation and maintain general ledger integrity and internal controls.
• Provide day-to-day guidance and support to the AP and AR functions.
• Ensure construction-specific accounting is handled correctly: WIP schedules, percentage-of-completion revenue recognition, job costing, AIA billing, certified payroll, and vendor/lien compliance.
• Partner with the CFO to continuously improve close processes, reporting, and the team's capabilities.
