Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking a Software Development Manager for the OIS Console Foundations, leading the team that delivers core platform services including authorization, notifications, global search, and embedded AI layers. You will hire, mentor, and direct engineers, shaping technical direction with Principal Engineers and product managers.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of engineering team management.
• 7+ years working directly within engineering teams.
• 3+ years designing or architecting scalable systems.
• 8+ years leading the definition and development of multi tier web services.
• Knowledge of engineering practices for the full software lifecycle and live-site operations.
• Experience partnering with product or program management teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead, hire, develop, and retain a team of software engineers; manage performance, set goals, and grow careers.
• Own the roadmaps and delivery for your team's scope — Console foundations and embedded AI layer — aligned with product managers and Principal Engineers.
• Set and uphold the bar for design, code quality, and operational excellence; ensure availability, latency, and security through on-call reviews.
• Drive adoption of shared platform capabilities across OIS partner service teams through value and influence.
• Balance speed, safety, and maintainability when making design and sequencing tradeoffs, including AI safety considerations.
• Manage cross-team dependencies and stakeholder relationships; represent the team in design and operations reviews.
• Keep the team focused on customer outcomes: making infrastructure self-service for solution owners across Amazon's operations sites.
