Job summary

Capital Teams seeks a General Concrete Paving Superintendent to lead slipform paving operations on highway, airport, and large infrastructure projects. You will plan, coordinate, supervise field crews, and ensure quality, safety, and schedule adherence.

You will manage production, equipment, and subcontractors, drive continuous improvement, and collaborate with project managers to meet contract specs and budgets across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of concrete paving experience.
• Extensive experience with high production slipform paving operations.
• Experience managing highway, airports, DOT, FAA, heavy civil, or large-scale infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all concrete paving operations from mobilization through project completion.
• Supervise Foremen, Operators, Finishers, Laborers, and subcontractors.
• Establish production goals, work plans, crew assignments, and project execution strategies.
• Coordinate daily, weekly, and long-range paving schedules.
• Partner with Project Managers to ensure project objectives are achieved.
• Direct all slipform paving activities including roadway and airfield paving.
• Oversee machine setup, calibration, and daily production of slipform paving systems.
• Ensure paving alignment, grade accuracy, thickness requirements, ride quality, and smoothness specifications.
• Coordinate GPS and stringless paving technologies.
• Monitor production rates and implement optimization strategies.
• Troubleshoot equipment and production issues.
• Oversee concrete placement, finishing, curing, and jointing.
• Develop paving sequences and operational plans.
• Coordinate concrete supply, hauling logistics, and equipment utilization.
• Monitor crew productivity and production efficiency.
• Analyze production metrics and drive continuous improvement.
• Manage resources to minimize downtime and maintain schedules.
• Foster a proactive safety culture and ensure OSHA, DOT, FAA compliance.
• Conduct site inspections, pre-task planning, and safety audits.
• Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain compliance with DOT, FAA, municipal, and owner requirements.
