Job summary

Austin Bridge & Road is seeking an experienced Concrete Paving Foreman to lead a major heavy civil paving project in the North Phoenix, Arizona area. The role oversees daily field operations, upholds safety and quality standards, and coordinates with the Project Manager on plans, logistics, and schedules.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in heavy civil construction with concrete paving, strong leadership, and proficiency with construction management tools.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in heavy civil construction with a focus on concrete paving.
• Proven leadership in managing paving crews and subcontractors on complex roadway or infrastructure projects.
• Proficient in construction management software (e.g., HCSS Heavy Job) and daily reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day field operations for concrete paving projects, ensuring adherence to project plans, schedules, and safety standards.
• Implement and enforce jobsite safety protocols, conduct hazard assessments, and coordinate with safety personnel and inspectors.
• Collaborate with the Project Manager to plan site logistics, including paving sequences, equipment staging, and traffic control.
• Develop and manage daily and weekly paving schedules, ensuring efficient use of crews, equipment, and materials.
• Monitor concrete placement, finishing, curing, and jointing to ensure compliance with specifications and high-quality standards.
• Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery and execution of work.
• Provide technical guidance to resolve field issues and optimize paving methods and productivity.
• Track labor, equipment, and material costs, and assist in schedule and budget adjustments as needed.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable construction laws, codes, and company policies.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, inspectors, engineers, and vendors.
• Support team development through training, mentorship, and performance feedback.
• Oversee project closeout activities, including punch lists, final inspections, and documentation.
• Additional duties as assigned
