Job summary

NexGen Contracting, a Gray Company, is seeking a General Superintendent in Charlotte to lead our Concrete Department on turnkey projects. You will supervise field teams, coordinate with subcontractors, and ensure safety, quality, and on-schedule delivery.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree or equivalent concrete experience, strong leadership, and a proven track record in concrete construction. This role emphasizes collaboration, scheduling, and budget adherence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or five years concrete related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Basic computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, and email.
• Energetic, self-motivated individual who enjoys a team environment and professional development.
• Establish and maintain high safety and quality standards on site.

Responsibilities

• Assembles and schedules appropriate team members and subcontractors at project start and coordinates staffing throughout.
• Sets up construction site, procures tools and materials to meet work schedules.
• Directs supervisory personnel and subcontractors in planning, coordinating phases of construction.
• Confers with supervisors to resolve issues and ensure safety, quality, and on-time progress.
• Prepares or reviews reports on progress, materials used, and costs, adjusting schedules as needed.
