Job summary

Charles River Analytics, a GRVTY company, is seeking a Senior Computer Vision and Autonomy Engineering Lead to guide projects in robotic navigation and sensor processing. You will lead 5–10 engineers, mentor staff, and drive architecture and code quality.

You will develop robust CV/ autonomy software (object detection, SLAM, visual odometry) and deploy ML models on embedded and edge systems using PyTorch or TensorFlow, while collaborating with scientists and customers to deliver impact across

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or related field; master’s preferred.
• 10+ years in computer vision, perception, or autonomy development (or master's with 8+ years).
• Proficiency in Python and C++ for research prototypes and production software.
• Experience with ROS2 and simulation environments.
• Expertise in object detection, tracking, SLAM, visual odometry, or similar.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership in CV and autonomy algorithm development and integration.
• Lead and mentor a team of CV, perception, and autonomy engineers; support hiring and professional development.
• Develop robust software for object detection, tracking, SLAM, visual odometry, and sensor fusion.
• Deploy ML models on embedded, edge, and real-time systems (PyTorch/TensorFlow).
• Oversee architecture, reviews, code quality, and engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with scientists and SMEs to translate research into implementable solutions for multiple domains.
• Participate in customer engagements, field tests, and integration activities.
• Contribute to proposals, technical docs, and transition plans for funded programs.
• Support growth of internal technical capabilities to meet program needs.
