Job summary

Nike is seeking a Lead Computational Capabilities Engineer to bridge software, manufacturing, and innovation. You will build tools and workflows that translate design intent into physical execution, working across footwear and apparel initiatives.

The role requires hands-on coding in Python/C# and experience with multi-axis systems, simulating and validating results through prototyping. You’ll collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to accelerate platform development.

Qualifications

  • 4-5+ years of experience building custom software and computational workflows for design, engineering, and advanced manufacturing applications.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; will accept suitable education/experience combinations.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and C#; experience with C++ preferred.
  • Experience generating machine code (G-code or equivalent) for multi-axis manufacturing systems; robotics/motion planning exposure.

Responsibilities

  • Build and scale digital infrastructure powering Nike Innovation's multi-axis manufacturing platforms.
  • Create tools, workflows, and capabilities translating design to physical outcomes across Footwear and Apparel.
  • Author and optimize machine-code and toolpath generation systems with hands-on prototyping.
  • Prototype in Rhino/Grasshopper; translate concepts into Python/C# applications and reusable frameworks.
  • Collaborate with engineers, scientists, machine builders, designers, and partners to accelerate platform development.
  • Develop validation systems, automation, and safeguards for reliable processes.
  • Create operator- and designer-facing tools aligned with production needs.
