Job summary

Ellaway Blues Consulting is seeking an Engineering Manager in Texas to lead a team of computational engineers and bridge modelling with experimental activities across materials development and manufacturing.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s or Ph.D. in Materials Science, Metallurgy, Physics, or Chemical Engineering and has strong industrial experience in computational materials engineering, ICME, thermodynamic modelling, and ML-driven materials science, with proven leadership.

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in Materials Science, Metallurgy, Physics, Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Strong background in computational materials engineering in an industrial environment.
• Demonstrated leadership of multidisciplinary technical programs; management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of computational engineers.
• Define the computational modelling strategy across materials and manufacturing projects.
• Develop ICME methodologies to model metallurgical systems and processes.
• Apply modelling methods including thermodynamic modelling, materials informatics, ML, CFD, and image-based analysis.
• Collaborate with experimental engineers to integrate modelling with lab and pilot-scale development.
• Develop process–structure–property models to optimize manufacturing performance.
• Manage multiple technical projects aligning with business objectives.
• Collaborate with universities, national labs, and strategic partners on applied research initiatives.
