Job summary

Wabtec is seeking a Compressor Lead Technician in Kansas City, MO to lead daily production operations and guide a manufacturing team. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and productivity while coordinating with maintenance, quality, and leadership teams.

The ideal candidate will have 2–3 years of manufacturing or production leadership experience, strong communication skills, and a proven ability to mentor staff in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must have strong leadership and communication skills.
• Experience in leading daily production activities and shift start-up meetings.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily production activities within the assigned manufacturing area.
• Communicate production goals, priorities, staffing assignments, and expectations.
• Coordinate workflow to support production schedules and customer commitments.
• Facilitate shift startup meetings and participate in GEMBA and production discussions.
• Monitor line performance and address barriers affecting safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.
• Support employee onboarding, training, mentoring, and cross-training efforts.
• Promote a positive, accountable, and team-oriented work environment.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies, PPE requirements, and quality standards.
• Identify and address production issues and opportunities.
• Champion 5S, continuous improvement, and workplace organization initiatives.
• Support staffing coverage and production continuity during disruptions.
• Serve as a communication link between production employees and leadership.
