Job summary

iCOMAT seeks a Principal Composites Structures Engineer to lead design delivery using our Rapid Tow Shearing (RTS) technology, focusing on advanced FEA simulations and cross-functional collaboration. You will guide complex structural analyses for curved-fiber composites intended for aerospace, automotive, and space applications.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in FEA as a design tool, a strong background in composites, and a proven ability to lead engineering development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master's/PhD preferred.
• 7+ years of finite element analysis experience as a design tool.
• Proven track record delivering complex engineering projects with structural analysis.
• Strong understanding of structural mechanics and material properties, including composites.
• Ability to interpret FEA results and communicate findings clearly.
• Knowledge of ASME, ASTM, and ISO standards for FEA practices.
• Excellent problem solving, project management, and communication skills.
• Experience mentoring/junior engineers and leading teams.

Responsibilities

• Utilise advanced FEA to design composite structural components meeting integrity and performance requirements.
• Perform stress, fatigue, vibration, and thermal analyses to identify design flaws and risks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine product requirements and designs.
• Develop and validate FEA models, ensuring accuracy and industry standard compliance.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide constructive feedback.
• Correlate test data and field performance to improve designs and optimizations.
• Stay current with industry trends and advance RTS analysis methodologies.
• Support manufacturing and QA to ensure successful production of products.
