Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Brandywine is seeking an Age Group Swim Coach for the Lionville Community YMCA in Exton, PA. This part-time role supports the Competitive Aquatics program, mentors staff and volunteers, develops curriculum, and leads practices and meets with a focus on safety and inclusivity.

You’ll build season plans, schedule coaching, recruit and retain participants, and ensure smooth operation of home swims and dual meets, under the Director of Competitive Aquatics.

Qualifications

• 21+ years of age or older.
• Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience preferred.
• Competitive swimming experience 4+ years preferred.
• Current Lifeguard certifications or obtain within 30 days of hire.
• At least 2 years coaching experience with swimmers of all ages.
• Ability to relate to diverse groups; fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Oversees and coaches age group programming (12 & Under).
• Communicates with members and parents regularly.
• Assists Director of Competitive Aquatics or Associate Head Coach.
• Develops season plans and meets with Director of Competitive Aquatics.
• Maintains team database and manages 12 & Under meet entries.
• Trains junior and assistant coaches; handles admin duties.
